I heard a great point the other from a superintendent. Pinehurst is the only course you could shave the rough and have play tough. You don't have to worry about no rough again unless they go back.

Course played tough today. But had records for low rounds after 54. Women are going to get destroyed next week when no rain and nothing but sun and heat.

These greens are gone after the women's open.

No chance they'd do the women's open first and risk having a beat up course from traffic for the men.

The non-rough this year is the only way it was possible. Would have had to scalp a ton of grass off normal rough for women's open. They'll be able to slow the greens pretty easily.
