Seems like a really good dude.... he's just in way over his head. It was a bad hire, he is best suited as a d coordinator or head coach of a mid level team.

He caught a huge break with that goal line fumble.

But no I don't feel bad for him, he makes like 5/mil a year. It's a cutthroat business.

I can't imagine all the non-football crap the HC at Texas has to go through.

All those rich boosters, good ol' boys Texas back-slapping and glad-handing.

Texas always needs a baby-kissing politician as their HC who also just happens to be pretty good at football.

Exactly why a politician like Mack brown was a perfect fit there. I think those folks would have driven saban nuts.

I agree with the OP. Feel sorry for the guy and worse for LSU's chances vs.UT for the services of Tom Herman

Yeah, he makes a ton of money. But I'm willing to bet dealing with those boosters at Texas who thought it should be Saban or Bust will shave a few years off your life.

I still think he's a solid coach that inherited a shitshow that a lot of decent coaches wouldn't be able to clean up in the time Texas wanted him to.

And has spent the better part of the past 3 years in a misguided attempt to claim some moral superiority over every school in the country and A&M in particular

I'm with everyone on the millionaire argument, Strong just seems like a much more likable person than most other coaches
