Mike and Jr were my two favorite players growing up. Total water work factory over here right now.

I'm not that emotional but it's always sad seeing grown men cry and seeing people realize their life dreams. Puts a weird smile on my face

Great finish from Griffey

Griffey is a notorious jackass with zero sense of humor or self awareness… just watch the Norm ESPY clip. The sentiment is well known around baseball.

You should be more specific about who JR is and what sport you are talking about. And I think that you are not supposed to capitalize both J and R. You are making it seem like J and R stand for something. It's Jr.

Fair enough about the spelling of Jr, but I'd like to think most sports fans knew who I was talking about.

He may be a jackass but he was he made baseball a joy to watch in his time. And one of the GOATs. The point where he put on the backwards hat was perfect.

Grew up idolizing Griffey. I collected his baseball cards (still have them all), bought his shoes, and even molded my swing after his. Glad to see this day for him.

Loved Griffey growing up. Went to a Texas vs Cincy game when I was really young. Brought a ball to get signed and myself and 25 other young kids were screaming for Griffey to just acknowledge us or sign our shite before the game.

Not one even glance in our direction. I will never forget that.

Edwin Encarnacion, before he was good, came over with a few other guys and took all of our balls and got the entire Reds team to sign them. The Reds were shite so it wasn't a big deal, but after Griffey did that to not only myself, but other young fans, I've hoped nothing but bad things for him.

The guy was a dick, but he was pretty fricking great at baseball.

Probably 10-11 years old.

Games was probably back in 01, or 02 if I had to guess.

He's a dick because he didn't spend work time writing his name on stuff for a legion of brats?

All the guy had to do was just fricking look at a group of kids and wave.

Idc if someone signs anything or not, all that is extra. The entire rest of his team didn't mind signing my ball or talking to me and the other kids before the game.

I had the dudes jersey and shoes… I loved his game but he was and is an entitled jerk… his Seattle years is still probably the best baseball we'll see in our lifetime. (I don't count Bonds)

At all times you're awake, throughout the entirety of your life, whatever direction you're looking, means you aren't looking at somewhere else. Had he been looking at you, another group of kids would be unlooked at.

Think about that for a while.

Who else skimmed the title a thought this was about JR Smith's emotional speech after the Cavs winning the title....until noticing the letters "HOF"?

He is an entertainer, like a court jester or circus clown. His job is to entertain the fans.
