Bill has been given a couple chances to land in some better rides. Does not want it. He said he wants to do 10-15 races a year and thats it. He is trying to get his son racing. Ray Evernham actually had a sponsor deal and 3rd car ready to go full time in 2004 if Bill Elliott decided to come back. Ray thought that Bill would come back because if NASCAR would have had the Chase back in 2003, Bill Elliott would have won the championship. Believe me if Bill decided to he wanted to race full time again, he would have RCR, Gibbs, Stewart, and EGR would atleast give Bill a call.

Eh, find that hard to believe (about him having lots of suitors if he wanted to race full time).
I do know he is happy with helping Ray Cook out with his dirt late model on off weekends

Did anyone really think NASCAR would allow someone named Juan to win a race. Dude dominated and was on his way to the win and typical NASCAR, make it competitive anyway they can (speeding penalties, debris cautions and other bullshite calls). They have become the WWE of motorsports. I've been following the sport since the late eighties. I've missed 3 races at Talledega in the last 16 years. I just can't look at this crap anymore and believe that the races are decided on the track.

you're an idiot.
you do realize that there is a 5mph buffer for speeding? and that its all automated? and that with a 5 second lead with 40 laps to go he shouldn't be pushing the issue on pit road speed?
if he was any kind of driver he would have come through the pack like gordon or johnson or stewart...but not only did JPM not come through the field, he lost positions. get that fricking shite out of here.

Damn Jimmie Johnson now owns The Brickyard and could definitely win his 4th straight title. I'm not a fan of this. It looks to me like a three way race for the title now between Smoke, JJ, and Mark Martin.
Question: would a 4th straight title for JJ be good or bad for NASCAR?

Okay, I will admit that NASCAR penalizing JPM was probably not a conspiracy. But if you think that NASCAR doesnt lean one way or another towards certain drivers, or that they dont have questionable calls to make the race more entertaining then you are the idiot. Why is there a 5mph buffer on pit road speed (I bet you were not aware of this rule until you heard the announcers bring it up)? It's because NASCAR wants to keep calls at their discretion. NASCAR doesnt like black and white rules. It takes away their ability to control. Rusty Wallace even said with 25 laps to go "I see NASCAR throwing a few more cautions before this thing is over." Notice he didnt say "I see a few more incidents happening on the track before this is over." If it is so automated then let the timing devices make the calls and do away with the 5mph buffer. You probably heard the commentators refer to the green light that the cars have on the dash which tells them that their rpm's are under pit road speed. JPM stated adimately that his never went off. Either he or NASCAR got it wrong. I will go with JPM wrong this time, but why was NASCAR so defensive in their call. If it is a timing device call then you sould'nt have to keep defending your decision. Say it was the clocks call and leave it alone. If Jr. was in that position do you think the same call would have been made?
As for coming up through the field you just showed how little experience you have viewing NASCAR. JPM was out front the entire race. His car like most COT's runs much different in clean air. Jeff Gordan points this out or uses this excuse more than any other driver. JPM made one adjustment all day (1/2 lb air rht rear) because he was out front. His team did not know how their car would run or which way to adjust the car for dirty air until there were only 25 laps to go. Kinda hard to make a car better or adjust for new conditions that late in the race. This is why he could not come up through the field. JJ, JG and TS on the other hand had all day to work on this issue. I didnt really see anyone charging up through the field except maybe Logano. For the most part teams pretty much stayed the same as their practice times. Difficulty in passing was mentioned throughout the race.
In the end I will admit that JPM is at fault, but dont be so nieve as to think that calls arnt made to increase the entertainment value of the race.

Yes I am aware of the road coarse win at Infeneon. (It was won on feul milage by the way, and the fact that he can drive a road course).
I admitted that the call was JP's fault. Now do you think that calls are not made by NASCAR that are extremelly questionable? I value you opinion because you hail from the racing mecca of Minnisota.
Take it easy Gopher Man, not trying to start a pissin match just give an answer and discuss if you would like?
