For the year, LeMahieu has hit .352/.422/.503 to go along with 11 HR, 32 2B, 8 3B and 66 RBI. He's only struck out 77 times in 537 AB to pair with 66 BB. A 77/66 K/BB is outstanding.

And, oh yeah...he's playing Gold Glove caliber defense at second base for the Rockies.

Phenomenal year. Hope he can hang on to batting title, that will be an amazing achievement.

Not sure why this thread or an alert was needed for this but okay.

You're not sure why an LSU alumni who may win a Gold Glove and an NL Batting Title needs it's own thread on an LSU message board?

Me either, man. It's a real mystery.

LeMahieu is great but do you really think he's better than Altuve?

And a former Cub. LeMahieu is having an amazing year. He was already a top-shelf glove man, but now the bat has followed suit this year.

This is a truly pathetic statement

They can't help it, even though it is wholly irrelevant to the fact that LeMahieu is leading the batting race.

Home: .394/.476/.595
Road: .305/.358/.403

Still a great year, but Coors is a powerful beast. Not that that road line is anything to sneeze at if it is paired with good 2B defense. Plus some studies suggest that Rockies players hit worse on the road than other teams due to pitches breaking so differently than in Coors. Good to see a former Tiger doing so well.

This IS NOT a thread about Altuve. Thanks for proving my point.

This is the more sports board. If it is purely an LSU thing, you should've posted on the Tiger Rant.

My point is there are no threads for home run leagers or sb leaders. It just seems silly.

Regardless of how true your post is, this is an LSU-centric site. Deal with it. Or make your own threads for HR or SB leaders, by all means.

Dude is having a great season. You left out the 103 runs he has scored... his best number after the BA.

Because Altuve is better? No offense to LaMahieu, he's been fantastic the last couple years, and as an LSU fan I think he's awesome, but there's no fricking way he's better than Altuve. Absolutely none. And I'm not saying that as an Astros fan. I'm saying that as a fact.

Just to be clear that's what we call an opinion.

Just to settle the Altuve vs LaMahieu argument. Altuve leads 2B this year with 6.6 WAR, DJ is 8th at 4.2.

LeMahieu - .352
Altuve- .340

Thanks for clearing up any confusion about who does in fact lead the NL batting race.
