How about we compare the SEC's bowl record over the last five years to that of the Big 10?

Yep

Uh, nope. I'm looking at a final poll from that season. Guess you should've specified AP or Coaches.

Conference bowl records don't mean shite until the SEC does well in a year, then it's the nail that the SEC hangs its hat on

B10
Illinois 2-1
Iowa 1-3
IU 0-0
Maryland 0-1
Michigan 1-3 (1-0 in BCS)
Michigan State 4-1 (2-0 in BCS/NY6)
Minnesota 0-3
Nebraska 1-3
NU 1-2
Ohio State 3-2 (3-1 in BCS/NY6/CFPCG)
PSU 1-2
PU 1-1
RU 1-0
Wisconsin 1-4 (0-3 in BCS)
17-26 (6-4)

I didn't count 2010 and 2013 for Maryland since they weren't in the B10 yet.
I didn't count 2010 for Nebraska since they weren't in the B10 yet.
I didn't count 2011-2013 for RU since they weren't in the B10 yet.

SEC
Alabama 3-2 (2-2 in BCS/NY6)
Arkansas 2-1 (0-1 in BCS)
AU 2-2 (1-1 in BCS)
Kentucky 0-1
LSU 2-3 (0-1 in BCS)
Mississippi 2-1 (0-1 in NY6)
Mississippi State 3-2 (0-1 in NY6)
Missouri 2-0
South Carolina 4-1
TAMU 3-0
Tennessee 1-1
UF 3-1 (0-1 in BCS)
UG 2-3
VU 2-1
31-19 (3-8)

I didn't count 2010-2011 for Missouri and TAMU since they weren't in the SEC yet.

They just won the playoff. When did Boise do that?

Some of you are insufferable.

When did Boise get a chance? That's the whole point which is pretty obvious to anyone with a clue. I mean Boise beat Oklahoma so I guess that should have solidified their legitimacy forever right?

Ohio State is a fine football team with a great coach but they should not be allowed to play the schedule they play and be on the same footing as the teams they end up competing against in the playoff who have gone through the wars to get where they are at.

They kicked the shite out of Michigan State on the road and then beat Wisconsin 59-0 at a neutral site with backups QBs. That's good enough for me.

Ever hear of the expression, "the score didn't tell the story of the game?"

Raped. Bama never had a chance from the get go. But we get it. The players learned what round they were being drafted in and just didn't care about the game.

lol, are you retarded? I hate bama more than anyone but bama was dominating that game at the beginning and were threatening to run away with it. If Lane wasn't a moron and had kept pounding Henry they probably would have won.

I'm very glad it didn't pan out that way but that's quite a narrative you've spun.

I really don't understand why Ohio State isn't being treated like Boise State back in the day. It's unforgivable the schedule they play

Michigan State is 10x better than anyone Boise State used to play and OSU beat them like a rented mule in East Lansing. I live amongst the Buckeye trash but I also have to give credit where it's due. They earned their title last year and if they win it again they'll have to earn it.

Alabama was up 21-6 at the get go shithead. Ohio State was the better football team and I don't think any quality football fan will argue that. I was extremely impressed with the Buckeyes. The talent level they have over every other BIG10 team is significant.

The division touted as the best ever went 2-5 in bowl games.

Yeah and Conference USA went 5-1 in bowl games. Should we be moved to the P5

Bowls really don't mean shite.

No kidding.

And let's add something that is never discussed about bowls....the SEC won 7 straight and has what 9 or 10 straight reps in NC champ game which results in a HUGE target on their backs every bowl season because of the dominance of a decade that most outside the south cannot stand.

For some SEC teams, "lesser" bowl games are just not good enough and the desire is just not as much as their bowl opponent.

That is not an excuse, it's just reality. Motivation is important in football, maybe moreso than any sport, and when one team is way more motivated than another then the results will speak for themselves.

It's too bad there isn't a playoff to prove their worth...

If only Florida State could have played in a playoff to prove...

If Alabama had the old system they could have cake walked to another championship, but it would have been tough with the NFL Draft coming up.

2014 MSU would have beaten 2011 UGA by 2-3 touchdowns.

When it was 21-6 we never had a chance? We blew it, I get that, but saying we didn't have a chance from the get go is a bit stupid.

If that's the case, LSU should be looking at 6-8.

that makes sense - because one school being worse than usual would naturally make it more likely for the other to be worse as well.
