Geno's entire approach was, "I'm the best QB, if you don't believe it that's your problem." No Senior Bowl, didn't work to prove his question marks were correctable etc

maybe from advice of his agent

Tyler Wilson sucks. What's the infatuation with him? Is it because he called out his team for sucking in that game he didn't even play in?

Not to mention his dumarse agent advised him to show up for the first round

I don't think he had to advise him to show.

Maybe so.

As with every other prospect, only time will tell now.

From my eye he's kinda come off as entitled throughout the process.

More than likely the agent has been "representing" him since at least his senior yr & put out money way before draft time. Incompetent agents & dumb clients deserve each other, my opinion, so I don't feel sorry for either side. But if Smith pouts this easily, the NY media will rip him a new one pretty quick the first time he messes up.

Because Kansas City is going to get Alex Smith, a veteran, fair-quality QB and then draft Geno Smith, and inexperienced QB who didn't win anything in college

He had to be dragged to radio city music hall on day 2 as well

Dragged? Come the frick on. He went. Which is more than most people would have done. NOBODY would have wanted to go back for day 2. Some people really need to get off their high horse. I guess you would have enjoyed going back for day 2 after you were just embarrassed on national tv?

Some of that has to be on the agent. Control your client. If you can't get a guy who obviously needs advice to listen to yours, then he needs a new agent.

What's to be embarrassed about? When I met drew brees I didn't think, "geez what a loser, 2nd round?"

I'm impressed by an NFL tryout

PFT has also heard that the firing was motivated by not being taken 1st overall

Stop lying. PFT just reported the report of Geno Smith firing his agents for that reason.

To me, his falling status at the draft is entirely his own fault.

yeah, mostly this

I had the impression that some teams were potentially interested in picking him earlier but decided there was no need to reach for him. I'm not a big fan of the pre-draft analysis that kinda read like "dumb black quarterback" but he really would have been better served to put out a better attitude to the public during this process.

We won't know the upshot of this for a while obviously. Aaron R seemed like a cocky bastard when he entered the draft and being humbled turned out to inspire his work ethic (half a decade later he's the best quarterback in the NFL)

Look at the Mock drafts post combine. Post Pro Day. They were glowing top 10 pick reports. Before Flynn went to the Raiders in late March....he was viewed as a lock.

Jason LaCanafora(sp) had an entire article about Geno not slipping out of the top 5.

Idk what the hell happened. Maybe it was all BS. Or maybe the Nawrocki reports affected Gms's. Idk. But it sure changed with in he last month.

I remember thinking he wouldn't have anything to lose by coming to the Senior Bowl. This class wasn't strong so you would think he would try and get out in front of things as best he could.

maybe he was going off the advice from his agent. Remember how Blaine Gabbert had these limited workouts yet he was a Top 10 pick?
