I think we have to consider intent when calling someone a thug. I don't think AP intended to seriously hurt the kid.
Donte Stallworth killed someone with his car when he was drunk. So did Josh Brent, but I wouldn't call them thugs.

The charity stuff has actually been checked out. It was a poorly run charity, not illegal. It was a shoddy piece of journalism by the star tribune where they tried to sensationalize an old issue that that was already checked out.
In fact, I posted a proper response that broke down everything that was actually wrong about The article and said what was right.
Unfortunately, everything else besides the charity issue is true. It's just heartbreaking.

It's not the fact that he smoked weed that's an issue. It's that he's out on bail and one of the stipulations for his release was that he was going to have to submit to drug testing.
When you're out on bail you keep your fricking nose clean. You SHOULD be a model citizen, no speeding, no littering...hell don't even jaywalk. You follow EVERY law because if you don't you can be locked back up.
