Understandable. As outsiders, I see why not going would be questionable but Demaurice Smith, who deals with the Commissioner's office almost on daily basis, must have had good reasons why to advise Peterson to not attend. Nobody would know how truly sleazy the the league office is, more than Smith. There has to be more behind Peterson not showing up then what's being reported.

That's an understatement.

So we are looking at at minimum 16 games and a loss of $4 million for pleading guilty to a misdemeanor.

A misdemeanor that won't go on his record if he pays a $4K fine, takes a parenting class, and completes probabtion. This union is weak.

What is the punishment for players who produce children then never have any contact with them? Isn't that child abuse as well?

The precedent has been set. Any misdemeanors now deserve the same IMO

He blew it by not attending the meeting.

And if I'm not mistaken, the NFLPA advised him to not attend that meeting because of the recent untrustworthy actions from the Commissioner's office. How could you blame Peterson or the NFLPA for feeling this way? What has Goodell done recently to feel that he should be trusted?

What was the upside of attending the meeting?

What was the downside of attending the meeting?

better question is, who hasn't?

I haven't, but that's because there were three guys waiting in line in front of me so I decided to just go to red lobster for a shrimpers feast instead.
