Is he just now realizing NFL contracts are essentially unilateral in favor of the team?

Why does he think he got so much guaranteed money upfront?

He can easily be a distraction and headache without getting fined or suspended.

tweaked hamstring in training camp, Turf toe two week or say stuff like
"The reason I am requesting a trade is as a 30 year old running back I would like go to a team that can realistically challenge for the post season."

"If Green Bay and Detroit get some key injuries we would have a good as shot as anyone of winning the division."

And the Vikings do nothing and he plays for the Vikings or no one at all

How does that create leverage for him? If anything it hurts his overall value to other teams that might be interested

Ha. I'd like to see the timeline on that, because Stephen A Smith BLASTED him on his radio show for a solid 15 minutes.

It creates leverage because the Vikings need a happy AP if they have any chance of success, they can't have the focal point of their offense not on the field. Get him on board or get rid of him, they can't have a $15.5 million cap hit, fricking around with team chemistry.

Just so we're clear, you're admitting to listening to a SAS radio show.

They did it last year. Don't see why they would care about it again

Except he actually has to show up to get paid this year

I never can read with writing in his voice. That doesn't sound like him AT ALL. I know he's got the accent and unique way of pronouncing words and stuff.....but he comes off as an idiot when he writes. He doesn't seem like THAT big of an idiot IRL to me.

Not that I feel the need to defend my actions, but I was in a rental car in Columbus, Ohio without a bluetooth so I could play my phone. It was XM Radio sports or nothing.

From what I understand, his radio show is a billion times better than anything else he does.

The owner is on their side, not APs

They are priced based on it not being a guaranteed contract. Peterson could have had a guaranteed contract. It probably would have been marginally more than the guaranteed portion of his current contract.

What he wants is to remove the risk built into his contract...without removing the value of him taking on that risk.

I've heard him on radio a few times. He is way more composed. SAS is a much brighter and more thoughtful guy than the character of angry SAS he plays on ESPN.

Well that didn't last long

quote:

Adrian Peterson is in Minnesota and planning to attend Tuesday's OTAs. The Vikings played hardball with Peterson and predictably won as he was never going to leave $12.75M on the table. "Basically it's time for me to come in and test the waters and re-familiarize myself with our offense and the direction they're trying to go in," he told ESPN's Josina Anderson. So all the drama over Peterson feeling scorned by the organization and wanting his 2016 contract guaranteed was just hot air. The Vikings did not adjust his deal.

does anyone really think he's going to be a Viking beyond this season? or produce worth 12.75M in any year for the rest of his career?
