Adidas has made a big play for the biggest basketball sneaker free agent of the summer of 2015.

The company has submitted a bid of $200 million over 13 years to sign Houston Rockets guard James Harden, sources told ESPN.com. Nike, whose deal with Harden recently expired, has until the end of next week to match the deal or lose him.

A $200 million offer is huge, considering it represents half of what the brand paid for 11 seasons as the NBA's official uniform supplier. Earlier this year, Adidas announced that it would not fight to renew that deal, which will see its competitor Nike take over after the 2016-17 season.

If I were to purchase a pair of Hardens..would it make me better at flailing and flopping around? Also..would I finally be able to grow a legit beard?

I'd end up dead if I ever came across that much money.

No way he is worth that.

In the basketball shoe world right now there is

1.) Jordan
2.) Durant
3.) Lebron

and everybody else.

I would throw that money at Curry right now. Is Harden the type of guy you can build a national campaign around?

I don't get him. I've watched plenty enough games to get a good sample size. He drives to the bucket, flops, gets a foul called and then hits free throws. He's not fun to watch.

I realize it's pro sports, but how in the world does anyone justify paying someone 200mil a year to play about 80 games against 5 people of the same caliber?

You obviously haven't watched enough games. He shoots about the same number of free throws as many star players throughout the years.

Guess he doesn't appreciate one of the game's most impressive step-back J's of today.

Probably more so than Curry.

Yeah, no. I mean I think Harden is a great player but I do think Curry is a lot more marketable.

200million spread over 13 years, 82 games, and there may not be 5 people on the planet with James Harden's skillset
