Even if this is a great concept it sounds like got scammed.
It doesn't seem to add anything extra at all versus buying your own cabin in the woods for a few thousand easy and spending a few days there.
But he paid some New Age yahoo half a million to go on a retreat

If I had an insane amount of money and crazy long breaks from work, I’d do all of this shite personally. I don’t because I actually have time and budget demands, but if I didn’t, hell yea I’d try all of this shite

My parents had a beach house built into a hill. Sealed doors at the top and bottom of the basement stairs. Huge basement with 4 bunkbeds and a ping pong table. Absolute pitch darkness. Literally could not see your hand waving in front of your face. Epic hide n seek games. My cousin said one time you could "see" better if you closed your eyes and it seemed to make sense. Somehow it seemed like you could make out the shape of the beds with you eyes closed. I usually slept late and doors opened lights turned on by the time I awoke. One time I woke up early forgot I was at the beach and freaked out thinking I was blind.
