Been an awesome game. Tech tied it in the 9th with a solo homerun to right center by Gladu.

Bulldogs add another quality win, bolstering that postseason resumè.

Of course it's all for nothing if we don't dominate conference play, but fun win tonight.

Just like basketball it never helps if teams in your conference are down. The higher the conference RPI the greater the chance of multiple teams making and hosting regionals. I understand Tech fans are new to the Baseball arena, but just look at your Basketball team the last 4/5 years. It doesn't mean shite to dominate a weak conference, you need your conference mates to be good as well so that your RPI doesn't tank once you go into conference play.

Depending on how Conference play goes LSU, TECH, and the Cajuns all are in a good spot to host a regional, one or two may even have a shot at a national seed, but they need to win as well as their conference foes for those options to come to fruition.

Man It's a midweek game. Dont get me wrong I can't stand losing to them in anything but it's not like it's the end of the world.

Why don't these two teams play a weekend series instead of a few midweek games? It's an easy trip up 167/I49. Quality opponent for both, which helps with RPI. Seems like a win/win.

Schedules are made years in advance. Nobody would have thought tech would be relevant 2 years ago.

I don't remember the specifics, but there was some jimmies rustled between both athletic departments in terms of scheduling each other. I don't know if Tech owed us a home football game, but our side refused to schedule Tech in any sport for a while until they did a home and home with us in football, and made the trip down here first.

Maybe someone more in the know can expand on that.

A shame this game wasn't on the tube. Sounds like the pitching and defense for both teams got out of serious jams late in the game. There is some really good baseball being played in this state.

I was held hostage in a fantasy football group text and got all the updates. Tech pitched their way out of a bases loaded one out jam on two different occasions.
