Tiger stated he was 100%. His coach also said it. He may not be 100% but him being 80-90% should beat a club pro in this spotlight.

So you're agreeing that he is OBVIOUSLY not even 80%, much less 100%.

This isn't the same as say a team of men's league baseball players beating the Yankees...

This thread is retarded

What's so funny about that? 95% of the club pros I know don't even get that much time to practice...

It's awesome to say, but if Tiger never wins again, he will never be looked the same as he was pre-2008 US Open. Won't be a huge deal to beat Tiger after he stopped winning majors.

And all 20 of those guys shouldn't be in the field

It's a huge deal. Lol. It's not like beating Jack right now. They just beat a guy who won 5 times last year. That's huge. Even tho it was the flukiest putting of all time.

I'd like to hear ur reasoning why The PGA Championship shouldn't ask the top pga class A club pros to play. You know the ones who actually grow the game. They should go back to 25 IMO. They have more of a right than Daly.

They also should pair those 20 with the top 20 guys in the world at the time. Give them their time.

Anyone in this thread who honestly believes the OP's stat is insignificant knows little to nothing about the game.

It's a big deal to those guys. Just like the 5 guys that beat him in the 2011 PGA.

Our teaching pro made national club pro last year. He had to take 4 days vacation to get paid and cancel his lessons right before he left to get practice in. He gives about 5-7 a day.

Correct.

All bitching aside, but doesn't that say something?

They get the National Club Pro, which is televised. More than enough. Weakening a major field is dumb. Those spots would be better served with nationwide guys. If anything, hold a closed qualifier for the PGA, and give those 20 exemptions into it.

And the majority of club pros do nothing to grow the game. The PGA Tour is the most important thing to grow the game.

They are being gifted 20 spots in a major. I think that's their time. It's not a pro-am

80% of what? Eighty percent of what he used to be or 100% as good as he will ever be in the future?
No one knows at this time.
He said that he needed to build up his strength. It doesn't take much strength to make a two foot putt.

Too small a sample size to be relevant. A lot of "club pros" could have beaten Tiger the past week.

I've been giving shot outs to my club pro Johan Kok all week. The guy shot 67 yesterday. Was 3rd in long drive competition. His game is unreal.

The difference - the mental strength to do it week in/out. Year in/out. He has no desire to work that hard. Tiger was on top for over a decade. No one really pushing Tiger. He was a giant in a land of midgets. That has changed.

He needs to shut it down the rest of the year.

You've always hated on club pros. Every post you have ever made about them. Not sure why. Did one of them tell you that you sucked and give the game up?

This is the PGA Championship. That's MY and THEIR Championship. And every club pro grows the game. Not sure how you think they don't. There are something like 8 teaching pros and 2-3 coaches in the field. They don't grow the game? The remaining 9 or 10 are director of golfs and or head pros which have jr programs. That's not growing the game?

The pgatour may bring players to the course but we keep them interested in the game.

Of course it isn't a pro am. We are Class A Pros just like the tour players. We are just A1 and A6 and A8 and whatever the head coach one is. They are A3.
