While winning championship is a measure of every coach, some coaches don’t have the resources to win titles every season. Coaches are also measured by how much they make with the resources they are given. For example, it’s not fair to compare coaches at Alabama or LSU with their counterparts at Vanderbilt or Mississippi State solely on the basis of the number of championships their teams have won. In selecting our list of top coaches, we considered achievement above and beyond expectations as well as victories and championships.

10 out of 12 games every season Les has the most talented team but still loses 3 or 4 games.

CLM should be ranked where his team finished.

I knew this would be a thread for the nega fans to unite...the thread that brings out the kids and the older uneducated fans.

For instance....in your 18 year old brain...you are convinced that your post is accurate...and you will have the other kids and the uneducated older guys come on here to support you...."hell yeah he manages 3-4 losses a year". Lol

Fact is in 11 seasons he has had 2 losses or less regular seasons over 50% of the time....which means the majority of the time for some of you that don't understand what 50% means...lol...6 years out of 11 he has had 2 losses or less....3 more years he has had only 3 losses in reg season....so 9 out of 11 years he has lost 3 games or less....and the other 2 years were 8-5 with very, very young teams.

Yet, you post on here as if the norm is that he loses 3-4 games...as if that is fact. So, that said, which are you? A 16 year old kid? An uneducated older guy that hates life, or a fake LSU fan?

That's a good point...let's add up all his finishes and get an average....then let's do the same with all the other coaches....great suggestion. However, I don't think you will like how it turns out. Clm would most definitely be in the top 5 of all coaches nationally....

So, you think arkansas and ole miss had teams with more talented players than LSU? In '07, Kentucky had a more talented team?

Where'd Gus Malzahn and Kevin Sumlin go? I thought they were 2 of the greatest coaches in the league

No. Do you think om had a more talented team than bama this year? Last year?

Do you think om had a more talented team than Florida in 2008?

Do you think Ulm had a more talented team than Alabama in 2007? Uab more talented than LSU back in early 2000's?

I could go on and on...point is it is a completely ignorant thought. ALL coaches lose to inferior talented teams....and your hero is no exception.

This list is driven by 2 things:

1. What have you done for me lately?
2. How well did you do with the resources you had?

Under that premise -- the list makes sense.

We'll see how good Dan Mullen is this year without Dak.

Don't think it was luck that Dan Mullen recruited and developed Dak. I'm sure he'll reload with more talent to stay competitive.
