It wouldn't surprise me if Thornwall ended up being a really good player - one of the better ones from the draft. He's one of those project guys that really put it together after a few years in the league kinda like Jimmy Butler did.

Well, at least Milwaukee made some money.

kings had a really strong looking draft, outside of fox at #5 which ive made my position really clear on so i wont rehash. but still, everything else looks really good. that should be the biggest sign that the fricking meteor is coming to vaporize us

i said earlier i wouldnt take giles in the 1st but if they think he can stay healthy its a good pick for them

you say that meteor is coming to vaporize us, but wait until they manage to turn De'Aaron and Jackson into Tyson Chandler and Brandon Knight or something equally stupid.

Giles is a good pick for a team with nothing to lose and lots of draft picks. More likely than not, he retires before he is 22, but there's a chance he lives up to his potential. Huge reward possibility, fairly low risk, especially with some of the players being picked in that 18-25 range.

Fox is going to be a star in this league once he develops his jump-shot completely. Getting Fox you have a premiere point-guard who can defend better than most guards in the league already. He is young, but he will be around a long time in this league. I'd be ecstatic if I were a Kings fan.

As for Giles?? Can he become anything close to what they saw in his Junior year in High School? He is a supposed monster on the boards and athletic freak, but he can't stay healthy. He has the highest ceiling possibly and the absolute lowest floor in the draft. Big unknown there.

Justin Jackson is a safe pick, but I don't like his game personally. Many do.. He isn't super explosive from what I've seen in college and his athleticism is average for a SF. He isn't big whatsoever at 6'8" 200lbs. I'm not high on him at all, but so what, he may become the next Rudy Gay..

Milwaukee's two picks are a lot like their city: average..

I'm so high on Sterling Brown. I think he's going to be a great role player. He shot 45% from three in college. He's not a lockdown defender, but he's definitely proven to be more than competent on both ends of the floor. He's long and could hopefully 1-3.

The biggest knock on him is the fact that he didn't play a major role for SMU. But I think he's perfectly okay with just playing a role. I can see him sticking and being a nice contributor for some years.

I'm curious if Fox can improve his 3P% sort of like Mike Conley did.

I know pretty much nothing about Alec Peters, but I always love seeing videos of guys getting selected. Just always makes you feel things.

Damn good point there...

Conley was shite shooting threes at Ohio St. I remember vividly as I was high on that team that year with Matta's best freshman class ever at Ohio St.

Fox has a few things he must improve on though without question. He has to improve his 3 point shooting, but also his distribution. He needs to be more like Wall when he was at Kentucky and be a better facilitator and not look to score first. His ability to become a better facilitator; shoot a higher percentage from 3; along with his second to none defensive ability on the ball and off in passing lanes makes him one of the best prospects I have seen in many years at the position.

He would have gone #1 if he had the 3 ball and ability to distribute better. Fultz has all those things already. If Fultz isn't balling out next year I am one of the few who would find that a disappointment and let down. He has all the tools to be a scorer, distributor, and lethal from deep. His defense isn't in the league of Fox. Fox has the highest upside.

Smith from NC State has all the tools too. Best guard class in recent memory.

I'm going to be honest, I don't know much about Sterling Brown except for the little I saw of him in the NCAA.

Milwaukee selling Thornwell to Clippers was not a good move in my eyes, but they may have wanted the money more.

he has strong iso defense, but his ball screen defense was bad as was his ability to defend shots off the dribble

then we get into how undersized he is. i dont see a top 5 pick in any way

Fox has the chance to be really, really good with improved shooting, but I think people are going to wonder why he went before Dennis Smith in a few years.

Well, I respectfully disagree. He will gain some weight and the size will more than help with the ball-screens and off the dribble too.

He will do fine.

I'm pretty happy with Phoenix's draft. I'm bummed with the Reed pick, though. I see the upside, but he could've been had at 54. Could've take Iwundu/Semi/Sterling/Bell at 32 and gotten Reed at 54.

but the thing is not that he just has trouble with shooting the ball, he was one of the worst shooters in the country. his percentiles were in the 20s across the board, he passes up open shots, this isnt going to work in the NBA. i just dont know how much someone can improve when the floor is just so low

and he would be far from the first player who "only needed to figure out his shot". there are some who figure it out, but there are a lot who dont. hes a mid lottery, 12ish pick that got vaulted into the top 5 because of the tournament

Do you think the league moving in the direction of GS style offense had anything to do with picking him? Someone that can help counter that by being a good one on one defender? I do agree with you about passing open shots though and sometimes that always attacking mentality can't be lost
