imagine having a ticket for Pick 4 that's about to pay $2,000.05 in the betting favorite is your choice you're looking at her before the race you see she is not herself she doesn't want to run that you can't change your ticket because you're on the last leg and the trainer won't scratch her. There were people legit ready to kill Pletcher that day sitting here just watching your tickets burn up in flames and not a damn thing you can do about it

I'll never understand this line of thinking from horse racing folks. Isn't it a pretty sorry attitude to have? Not you btw, the actual people involved with these horses.

I see your idiotic opinions stretch beyond golf, you run your horse where you think you can win, if you can rest and have a much better shot of winning a triple crown race you do it, I guess you were crying with the white trash owners when chrome got beat!

What idiotic opinions did I have in the golf thread?

I didn't care that Chrome got beat.

I winning the Belmont really all that prestigious in its own right Tho? It matters as part of the tc but on its own it's not a very significant horse race. if anything it's a detriment in the sense it's 12 furlongs, 2 further than classic distance and winnets are seen as slow plodding horses with no speed and thus stallion farms areport reluctant to give stud deals to winners

Ruler on Ice, da'tara shite drusselmyer won the classic and people still see him as slow.

And that's not a theory. Sea the stars, i.e. The best race horse the world ha seen the last 40 years, had won the first two legs of the European triple crown, the The Epson derby and the 2000 guanias, and point blank skipped the st. Ledger the last leg which is 16 furlongs for the sole reason of it making him look slow.

Always found it funny that the Belmont here is a test of Champions and that's the classic , European handicap distance..the arc, derby, King George all are 12f races

We shite on our debt horses not winning the triple crown, here has been one triple crown winner, nijinsky, the horse that put northern dancer on the map as the best sire in North American history sonce the last world war loL. Weve had 4

LOL the Melbourne cup? Just 2 fricking miles long. the same size as the breeders cup classic and the breeders cup ladies sprint, combined. And they never, ever, EVER break down

Birds tone started out at gains way for 10k that's chump change and frankly the only reason he got that is his owner was Mary loud Whitney and they knee she'd support him to with Her familes broodmare band
He's a good sire but that's because he is a good sire lol. He was Not well recieved by the breeding community

l also Birdstone is by grindstone who is such a shitty sire his name literally translates to slow fricking horse in Latin

Quick. Name another horse by grindstone. ........

Birdstone is all dam line and even with his Sam line, people were reluctant to give him Mars cause they thought he'd throw slow horses

I sat here for 10 mind asking myself why you would hate ap indy. Plus ap indy crushed the Belmont and has sired kids to won the Belmont

LOL you can't just say ap

I just don't like nyquist. He's not gonna win the tc he'll break down ( not literally ) physically before he wins three in 5 weeks

Nothing to hate about Nyquist. Those in the industry like the horse and think he could win the Triple Crown. Everything that has been thrown his way, he takes it on and wins. The horse is undefeated for a reason...he is a great horse. And they are talking about a sloppy track for the Preakness...it favors Nyquist. Still like Stradivari to give him a run to get on the board.

Was that like 342 bets in a 20 horse field? (19*18)=342 combinations.

Or did you part wheel with Nyquist and only a select number of other horses?

My bet was 13, with 5, 9, 11, with 5, 9, 11. I enjoyed the payout haha.

My son and a couple of his buddies will be in the infield at the Preakness on Saturday. The weather forecast is hideous. 58 degrees with up to an inch of rain.

It's a game. You strategize to win or upset the favorite. I haven't heard about an injury, so I suspect that's why Gun Runner pulled out of the Preakness.

Actually, It was a miracle Gun even ran in the derby (some on here will know why). Does not shock me he is not running tomorrow.

About to run and throw money on Nyquist, Exaggerator, and Stradvari. Straight across...boxed and trifectas.

Just made a quick scan over the PPs and it looks like there are a few new front runner faces. None of them look to have the class for this race EXCEPT if you throw in the weather. Predictions are for a mud pit. Nyquist has never run on a muddy track. My fear, for Nyquist is that a few of the long shot front runners get out and set a very fast pace. I mean like 4F in 45 or better. Nyquist will have to chose to run with or risk getting behind several horses kicking mud in his face. Can he run this distance with early fractions like that?

I know this level of race is not like everyday racing, but with a really muddy track, I look for a horse who is either going to get out in the lead without a doubt OR a real strong closer who has the capability to sit way back, out of the flying mud and run around the pack.

haven't had time to make my final choice yet. I'll post that tomorrow. Not that its worth anything.

Just wanted to share my thoughts with people who are interested. My old handicapping friends are all out of state now.
