Ok, rant time. By what fricked up measure is A.J. Pollock a better defender than Billy Hamilton. That little cocked up hamster wouldn't be in MLB if he could rover CF like his career depends on it(it does).

How about the fact that the NL overall leader in dWAR and defensive runs saved didn't even win the gold glove for his position?

Simmons and Hech are both way better defenders than Crawford.

Jose altuve might be the greatest second basemen of all time.

At least the best under 5 feet tall.

and his defensive metrics were STILL better than AJ Pollock, plus he met the min defensive innings played of 900 IP

Hamilton hit .226. It's not a coincidence that nearly all of the Gold Glove winners also had solid offensive seasons. It's in part an offensive award.

We all know that, but no where does it say this. Writers are dumb.

As a prospect his glove was a liability, he's made crazy strides as a defender.

Correct. The writers made it that way though. It may as well be the award for the best combination of offense and defense (unless you're Derek Jeter. No defense necessary)
