2 so far Tucson (C-USA/MW) & Little Rock (AAC/SB)

Sounds like Pac12 is pushing for bowl in Australia, SEC needs to step up and see about joining this bowl with pac12.

So schools regularly lose money on bowls if they're not decent bowls and they want to add more? And one in Australia?

Makes so much sense.

I don't see how schools can support this. It's a huge money waster.

War Memorial Stadium in late December? Makes the I-Bowl feel like a choice destination.

You would think that. But conferences split bowl money even the playoff bowl games evenly so it's not like Ohio State made 1 million dollars and the other schools broke even or lost money. I've read that teams break even and even come out ahead if enough teams make the BCS and now the playoffs.

This sucks. Unless you go 7-5 in the regular season...no bowl.

ESPN loves it. It's cheap live programming that gets good ratings, draws advertisers, and works as a way to promote the bowl games and playoff games that they really want you to watch.

Not to mention that they own most of these crappy bowl games.

If the schools are going to a bowl, the NCAA allows practice days that the non-bowl teams don't get. It makes a difference, especially for younger players. It also keeps your competition from distancing themselves from you.

Why can't they put one in Denver?

It's perfect for the ski resorts????

I was glad South Alabama made it to a bowl but the damn thing was in a stadium that just isn't that big.

like 20,000 seats. Crampton Bowl in freaking Montgomery.

I'm sure the Bowling Green folks loved it down here.

lol.

3 more bowls possibly huh? Well thats nice.

not really.

It's a win/win. Those who can't get enough college football get to watch two more games, and those who have gotten their fill may choose to tune out. Everybody's happy.

Man did they ruin bowl season or what. Such a shame. 500 bowls and counting.

Stupid.

The Pac 10 lost big money every year going to Hawaii.

What in the hell makes them think this is a money winner?

Why does it matter? I don't get why people are bothered by this shite. Ok so a few more 6-6 teams are playing each other. Watch. Don't watch, who cares?

And you thought the weather in Shreveport was shitty. LR will have an ice storm at least once in the first three years of the bowl, book it.

Australia? Is there a big following of football there I don't know about? That's like a 15 hour flight from LA
