I'm 35 and the 2 best teams I've seen are the 1994 '9ers and the 07 pats.

The Vikings team that inexplicably lost to the falcons in the NFC championship is probably the third best.

I was playing along until you said this..............

The 1985 Bears and 1989 49ers would have beat them.........

I think there are at least 2 steelers and 2 cowboys teams that could argue that, not to mention the 72 dolphins.

I refuse to believe a team led by Mark Rypien is the best in NFL history

The only reason they were the best is that Rypien was sacked twice the whole season.

Their OL was the best ever.

But we were talking about defenses, not overall teams though.

Actually the 1973 Dolphins were better than the 1972 Dolphins... Maybe not record wise but the 1973 team was DOMINATE compared to the 1972 team...........

Pretty close... The 1983 Redskin O-Line was dominant... Until they met the Raiders,,,

The 73 Dolphins played a tougher SOS, higher SRS than 72, and larger MOV in the playoffs, not to mention better scoring defense and pass defense than the preceding year.

My argument already was pretty damn strong and convincing, all you did was present unproven hypotheticals that are literally impossible to determine.

1st off ...how old are you????

I need to ask this because I have followed the NFL for almost 50 years.... I know what I am talking about...

The 1991 Redskins team was great... But best of all-time is A stretch... You brought great evidence to try to prove your point, But you will not acknowledge any other team except the 1989 49ers......... There are quite A few teams that have A say in this talk..........

I mean yeah we are talking about the greatest teams of all-time, I want to present more teams that have a similar resume by which to compare but want to see what all participants submit first and then acknowledge. SOS, MOV and team proficiency in all areas relative to that particular year is important when assessing the championship teams to me, hopefully it is to other people, can make more objective determinations that way.

Stats don't mean everything.... That's why I asked how old you are.....

Underrated for sure just like their head coach. It seemed like any qb you plugged into his system would flourish in those days.

They do mean a lot, they are verifiable facts and evidence by which to form opinions and determine things not subjective like perception and reaction. My age has no relevance to this, I review the stats of teams from different eras don't discriminate against them based off something so irrelevant like that. One of my prior posts I even raised the 60s Packers.
