? Regarding new Falcons stadium location

I'm not very familiar with Atlanta. I see the new stadium is right next door to the old one. Is this area pretty decent entertainment wise, or was it kind of the only real space available? I think it's interesting where and how these big cities decide where to put these new stadiums.

*Edit, just looked at google maps and hell yeah it is. My personal fav is that bbq joint.

s this area pretty decent entertainment wise,
It's down the street from the main touristy part of downtown- CNN Center, Phillips Arena, various museums, etc.
Not sure how that played a part in the new stadium location though

They are wanting to build up the area. Currently there are some good spots a little bit of a walk away along with the college football hall of fame. Will be interesting to see what else goes up around there. It isn't as bad as Turner was but still not a ton around there.

It's improved a lot as a tourist/visitor area
It's central to the Olympic park, the ferris wheel (it's dumb), museums, Coke, aquarium. The area on Marietta street reaching up to West Midtown is improving a lot. Some of the best restaurants in the city are within 1-2 miles.

The CNN center has several large bar/restaurants and then there's like a mall type deal in that same building, this is right next door to the stadium. That's all I know of but it's a good spot to be on game days

Everything east of it you could consider city center and th best pure tourism part of the city. Everything west... well... just don't go west.

The new stadium is next to the Georgia Dome which I'm pretty sure was built for the Olympics. The area has had about 20+ years to develop into an entertainment district.

It wasn't, but they have built the surrounding area into an entertainment district.
