It's definitely getting better. In 2011 and some in 2012 he had no idea how far his wedges would travel. He definitely is finding more control.

I'm no tiger lover because obviously he has had his public meltdown after what came out. But when the dude is on fire you have to respect what you are watching. Golf is better when Tiger is winning. That 61 was a thing of beauty. When tiger is on, there is no one in the world that can even come close to the dude.
I agree with all of this.

all of these are better than jack. every single one of them.
and he is on pace with jack in majors. and all of this has been done in today's game where it is SO much more difficult to win than it was 30 years ago.

pulled from another site. you are delusional if you think it was more difficult to win back then.
"As a result, in the 32 years from the 1947 PGA Championship to the 1979 PGA Championship, except for Gary Player, there was only one major played in the US that was won by a non-American --- the 1970 US Open, won by Tony Jacklin.
Similarly, hardly any Americans played in the British Open. When Gary Player won in 1959, there wasn't a single American star in the field. There were three players from the US, but they were not serious contenders. The best of the three was a 48-year-old amateur, who missed the cut by three shots.
The Big Three of Arnie, Jack, and Gary racked up five British Open wins between 1959 and 1968, and there were less than a dozen Americans in the field in any of them. There were only half a dozen in 1961, Arnie's first win, including two guys over 50 and an amateur. And since travel to Scotland was just as difficult from South Africa or Australia as it was from the US, it's probable that many top golfers from those countries skipped the Open as well."

stupid auto correct on phone. This Tiger/Jack argument is entertaining.
Tiger is the greatest of all time, but he's definitely not the world's greatest. That would be this guy

Exactly. No way to prove either side of that argument really.
Did a select group of golfers win more majors and dominate because they were really really good? Or because their competition was really really bad?
Do a ton of golfers win today because they are all mediocre? Or do a ton of golfers win today because everyone is good and has a shot at winning each week?

Definitely hard to prove which generation of golfers were better and why but I am leaning more towards

correct but you can prove that all of the best players in the world play in every major today. it was not that way back then.

Lets put the Tiger discussions aside for a bit. Who do you like and what's the score this week? Here's mine:
Winner: Dufner (-7)
Second: Dustin Johnson
Dark horse: Harris English

TW's 54 hole lead or "share of the lead" record is the most impressive to me.
he's money in the bank.
even in a blowout, TW delivers big tv ratings.
TV ratings surge over the weekend
