What separates those with and those without money

The only thing that separates those with and without money is what they invest in.
Any flaw to this logic?
Thought of this a while back and can't see anything wrong with it. People make their money a number of ways but it all ties back to what they invest in. Business venture, stock, education, lottery ticket, etc...

I disagree but am probably wrong. Those that have money are those that don't spend money. Live beneath your means and you will always be ahead. My motto anyway.

A janitor that makes 20,000 a year spends 15,000. A doctor makes 150,000 and spends 180,000. The janitor is much better off. Money does not buy happiness.

How one chooses to invest their time is the biggest indicator IMO.

At 25, rich parents and trust funds.
At 50, solid retirement planning and work ethic. And those with rich parents and trust funds.

The ability to understand immediate gratification vs. delayed gratification as well as needs vs. wants.

without money: use their money to get material things
with money: use their money to make more money
with money: use their money to make more money

Attitude about money. People who spend their money before they make it are usually the worst off.
Planning ahead to make your money work for you, rather than pay finance charges (a form of indentured servitude, if not outright slavery) is probably what separates most people with money and without.
Poor people can choose to spend less now, to make more later. They just choose not too.
Now, it is much easier to lose wealth than it is to gain it, but that is the nature of money and resources generally. People under-utilize the magic of compound interest.
