Looking to move my emergency account and another to something other than USAA that is making me pennies right now.

It seems that Amex is pretty popular around here, and it's currently at 4.25%. But there are others right now that are higher. What do ya'll use?

Cap One is 4.3% right now. There are some internet based institutions that are higher, but I'll sacrifice a little yield for one I've actually heard of and can walk into.

Had the strategy of using my Vanguard MM fund as a savings account for now.

Any reason not to do this?

I’m using capital one 4.30% and vanguard VMFXX 5.27%.

Just recently moved 1/2 my savings to VMFXX. I still like having money in Capital One for quick access if needed.

Fidelity MM

I keep my sideline cash in Schwab's equivalent, currently compounding 5.3%. Problem is it is in retirement accounts so not easily accessible if I need some of it. I suppose it could be held in a plain old brokerage account but I don't know what fees would be that would offset my interest. I don't have enough cash to look into it.

I use Morgan Stanley and Betterment, wife uses Amex and Betterment.

Betterment is tough to beat imo.
4.75%, (5.5% on new accounts) and they make it really easy to move money as needed.

I use capital one (4.3%).

I also use origin bank for checking. As long as you maintain a balance of at least $4,000 and have 16 debit card transactions and 1 direct deposit each month, they pay 6%. You can have as much as you want in the checking account but the 6% maxes out at $40,000.
