They will provide it if you have already had it prior to Katrina but they aren't writing any new policies. Any new policies in the New Orleans areas will go through ASI or anybody else that they can find.

One of the most pleasant Insurance and Financial institutions you will ever deal with, especially on the claims end of things. I have had dealings with them as both a customer as well as Contractor - Adjusters really understand what they are dealing with.

During the storms these past two years they did add a substantial number of reps. that may have not been fully trained, but have since weeded thru the bad ones and are back on top IMHO. I do know they consolidated a number of their banking call centers and the service and response times seem to be back to normal.

GREAT COMPANY & ORGANIZATION

Huge fan. Banking and Finance stuff is good because it's all low or no fee. The insurance is the cheapest Ive seen. I know one guy that had them raise his homeowners rate drastically because he had made two claims in the last 5 years. (Both were small potatoes, like 250$). Other than that I know dozens of military that use them for everything and have nothing but good things to say.

Never had a single problem, nor has my father who has used them for decades. Extremely easy to deal with. I have insurance (homeowners/auto) with them. Dad has got insurance and banking.

when I was in the navy 20+ yrs ago, I used them for all/banking etc. My wife prefers a local bank where she can talk to a person face to face. That being said, we have been very impressed/pleased for the auto, home, term life insurance, as well as car buying services. They had great deals on CD's 4 yrs ago and we laddered them from 4.5% to over 5% at that time. I use Vanguard for mutual funds b/c costs seem lower. Customer satisfaction for insurance, banking and credit cards is always ranked high in mags like smart money and money. I'd go for it, every other year I check Geico rates and USAA beats them every time. It was also a no brainer to pick USAA comparing Term Life 30 yr rates 5 yrs ago.
