The media never reports real news. God forbid they try to inform people what is happening around the world. Maybe they knows that doesn't sell.

Amen to that. The news and social media are always too busy buzzing about some dead lion you've never heard of, whether an inanimate object made of dyed interwoven thread is racist, the latest freak show in the Kardashian-Jenner circus, or some other triviality.

Meanwhile, in the real world, the EU makes interest rates negative in an attempt to encourage economic growth, Greece has a debt crisis that continuously comes close to default and threatens worldwide market stability, the Chinese government is doing everything it can think of to stop its stock market from crashing and burning like Paul Walker, and oil is dropping again.

I used to keep Bloomberg on during days when I was off. But these days, it's become more like the Lifetime Financial Network. One more story about poor, poor Ellen Pao, Marissa Mayer's trials and tribulations or how that frat party picture that the Twitter kids put out set women back 5000 years, and I'll be ready to change my name to Al Bundy.

I've been hoping for a couple of years that Reuters would turn their news feed and streams into a full fledged financial network. Probably won't happen, but a man has got to have a dream to keep going.
