Will it ever revalue ? ...I never thought it to be a scam as you can still exchange the currency and get most of your money back. Now there are some out there making lots of money selling the stuff with the mark ups and that I don't agree with . Iraq seems be making a comeback. Huge city building projects , a central bank etc .It would seem at some point it will be worth more than 1000 to 1 US dollar . Dumb investment or not ? Asking for a friend ....

2,000,000 IQD X .01 = $20,000 USD....Presently its something like 0001120. Thats it at .01 imagine .50 or 1.00 ...Not sure how your math works but If that 2 million IQD cost you $2000 than my math says that a nice profit.... Explain why it isn't ?....My friend wants to know hehe

bc your friend is an idiot, thats the end of the conversation, tell him to buy some dinar since its such a simple, surefire trade and let us all know how it works out.

Typical response from someone thats confronted with simple math that makes sense and has no answer why its not ... You don't believe it can happen and will ridicule others for your beliefs even when basic math proves your the idiot . Its a risk , one you obviously are against / Now back to my original question .. Why would it be a bad investment ? Instead of answering you decide to ridicule with no intelligent responses .....

Have you even tried to convert it back to the dollar dude? The currency game is for hedge funds playing arbitrage and is done by algorithms..

What Dabigfella is trying to say is that it is not a smart investment given the current unsettling events in Iraq and areas around it. Look at Venezuela... sure you could have gotten 1000 to 1 about 6 months ago.. now its even worst. Things can always get worse... smart investment, no; but if you want to throw your money away, go for it.

I understand what he was trying to say but why ridicule someone for asking a simple question ? Isn't this what this board is about? People looking for advice but instead get called an idiot .Have you seen what IRAQ is doing these days ? The Oil there sitting on top of . What there building ... Mega cities , there also about to reclaim Mosul from ISIS . Just saying , its hard to imagine there currency with stay 1000 to 1 USD . Kuwait was a good example of what can happen with currency . Its a risk , I get that ...

There may be reasons to speculate on the dinar but revaluation was definitely never one of them.

People who believe in the revaluation idea are basically saying that the Iraqi Central bank has both the means and the political will to give away boatloads of money to foreigners just because.
