Tesla Buying Solar City...Thoughts?

Seems like a terrible deal for SCTY longs especially all those guys long from $30-90 getting bought out for $26-28 right now. Obviously longs from a few weeks ago nearly made 100%, solid trade but TSLA doesnt seem to like the move down almost 11% in the AH. Whats your take on the buyout and the prospects of Tesla now? The whole earnings thing is way over my head but I know amazon has traded at wild valuations for years and it always went higher, is tesla in that same boat?

I've had negative leanings on both companies for some time now. Way overvalued and way too much praise for musk.
Probably part of the plan all along though. Scam investors out of lots of money, then buy it cheap for my other company.
Maybe the media will stop jizzing all over musk now.

Elon could get a margin call anytime. With the unsecured solar city bonds owned by SpaceX, and the loans owned by Musk secured by his Tesla and SolarCity stock, this whole thing is starting to look like a house of cards that will have a nasty ending. The tesla story is cool and im a believer in electric its just tesla has nothing really that any other company couldnt do. Its fascinating watching these two companies subsidized by us the taxpayers pull all this off. Amazing that most SCTY longs over the past few years got bought out at near all time lows.

Doesn't Musk's brother run Solar City? If so....uhmmm

Yeahhhh, its only time before the lawsuits start coming in (if they haven't already).
House of cards is an understatement. I'm just waiting for the media to shout *gasp* Ponzi scheme.

A lot of people bought Tesla now in anticipation of a jump once the Gigafactory is up and running (which looks like it will be opening next month and will be producing in November). Everyone is banking on increasing demand of Lithium Ion Batteries over the next few years and Tesla reaping the benefit of that through their production volumes. Not sure how the SCTY acquisition plays into that equation in the long haul.

Elon Musk Deserves Some Leeway As Tesla Stalks Vertical Integration With SolarCity
Nope.

Musk is a scam artist and must be performing some sort of fellacious activity with someone inside of the Obama Administration to get this type of consideration from Wall Street and the markets.
Tesla has always had a lot of potential and will always be the car of the future. It will always have "potential" but no buyers...at least in terms of any significant volume.
He has NOT turned a profit on any of this....no profit on product...plenty though on carbon credits.

Look at Tesla
March value was 25.1 billion which is equal to 40% of Ford's market capitalization.
Ford sold 6.3 million vehicles last year which was 200X as much as Tesla yet Tesla is trading at 196.66 a share
The Model 3 which is supposed to be marketed to the middle income buyers is only projected to go about 200 miles on a charge.
Teslas are NOT selling and there needs to be a sell off of Tesla stock . It's a dog with fleas. A well groomed dog with fleas is still a dog with fleas and that is EXACTLY what Tesla is
