So I decided to sell my old Iphone 4 on Amazon and the process seemed to be easy enough. This is my first time being the seller for an online transaction so I was hoping going through a website like Amazon would smooth out the process.

Selling wasn't an issue but now the buyer is requesting a return. Other than the lock button not working 100% the phone is in great condition and works properly.

This is the buyers comment:

quote:

Buyer comments: Original description stated that the lock button wasn't functional, after restoring and placing my SIM card into the phone it was unable to connect to iTunes and I was not able to fix the problem.

Her comment covers two topics that seem to be unrelated and the iTunes thing sounds like user error. Should I try and be tech support for her or just suck it up and pay for the return?

Well I got $100 more than what Gazelle offers. But I forgot to think about selling to someone who can't troubleshoot.

Hope you have the SN number off of the phone you shipped...

Be funny if she kept the one from you and sends you back a broken one.

I took a lot of pictures that I uploaded before I sold so that should not be an issue.

Not sure why you are thinking of taking return. I tunes is NOT. A function problem of the hardware. Are the rest of the internet functions working? She probably needs to take your email out and log in with hers or some crap like that. If internet is working, you owe her nothing
And the lick button issue. Didn't you day you disclosed that before the sale? If so, it's her phone now. She just found a better deal and isttrying to screw you over.

Yep. Gotta be careful with Amazon. They don't offer much protection for sellers against unscrupulous buyers.

You also have to watch listings carefully, as they have been known to edit listings without the seller's knowledge or consent.
