Drop the name of your bank! Getting 3.3 at Ally

I'm transitioning to Sofi, at least partially and briefly.
Checking is 1.2%, but 2.5% if you set up direct deposit.
Savings is 1.2%, but 3.5% if you set up direct deposit with a $250 cash reward if the direct deposits amount to $5000 or more.
I mainly bank with Hancock Whitney but seems silly to stick there when I can gain more interest with Sofi, get a reward, and easily move money back and forth to keep from having to stop any auto withdrawals (if I decide not to just switch them over to Sofi).

Why would you make this thread without giving out the name of your bank?

It's gotta be a credit union or something.

What is safer for high interest savings?

I switched to Capital One Performance savings from recommendations of this board. It’s getting 3.30 right now. Almost to the almighty three fifty

If it’s fdic insured it should be fine but sofi is basically a meme stock

Same lol. It seems to have been a good time to make that switch.

I'll do that instead of Sofi. I had forgotten about Capital One, and just suggested that to someone else recently. Thanks.

I think Synchrony High Yield Savings account was around ~3.6% last time I checked.

This is stupid I know but what are the down sides to a high yield account? Like if I have an emergency fund just hanging out earning shite in a savings account, is it a no brainer to put it in a high yield
