I left my job in Sept. and had a 401k of roughly $83k. I'd been there for seven years and was fully vested. I was going to roll it over to my new company but now I'm reading articles saying that it's not worth it. What say you gods of the MTB?

Edited to add. Rolling over into your new company's 401k will almost certainly have more fees and expenses than managing the money yourself in a traditional IRA. You'll get much more flexibility with the investments available to you, too.

Is vanguard superior to fidelity? They seem to offer similar things. I have accounts with fidelity but always hear a lot of vanguard talk

I've had accounts at both Vanguard and Fidelity for several years. I have consolidated all my accounts at Fidelity (IRAs, taxable, and checking). Fidelity's website/mobile apps, tools, and customer service are just way ahead of Vanguard.

Now I do prefer Vanguard products. So that's why most of my holdings are Vanguard ETFs in my Fidelity accounts.
