It says the money is sitting in core position and will remain there until invested. So I assume I need to purchase stocks or mutual funds or something with it?

Any recommendations? It's 20k if that helps.

Are there any ETFs that you get the transaction fees waived for?

If not, I'd split it up in some Schwab ETFs due to their low expense ratios. I like to use SCHA, SCHE, SCHF, SCHH, SCHM, SCHX and SCHZ.

Schwab just introduced a new ETF this last week or so called Schwab 1000 Index ETF. I don't know much about it at this point but worth looking into. This one has a really low expense ratio.

Age? Any other investments? Some info about your financial situation will help you get the best advice possible.

I can get VTSAX, I just checked that one.

I'm 31, no other investments other than company 401k which is also with Fidelity.

Yes, you need to purchase something with it.

FSMEX
FNCMX
FUSVX

These have been my top performers in order from most to least.
