Buying DUG (ultrashort oil etf) two years ago when oil was at 110ish a barrel. When it slid to 75 dollars or so I sold the short ETF and had a 50 percent return or so. I want to say Colonel Hapalap recommended that.

It's funny how hardly anyone who recommends a stock suggests a point where it would be time to sell. That strikes me as pretty important.

Easily my biggest beef with Cramer.

Bought my first shares of SLV at 17 and was stopped out $42 and some change. Did the same thing with AGQ bOught my first shares in the sixties and was stopped out at $238 I believe.

He recommended a triple-leveraged short ETF.
I lost just under $5,000 on it in three days......

I think he meant with the advice of someone else, i.e. not yourself.
Just the other day I bought BFRE at .2001 (jumped best bid) and sold at .2399 (undercut best ask) and was in and out over two days for near 20%.
That was a THF deep research pick that suddenly saw some liquidity. I have him to thank for it. Also, I know people on here banked on THF's APC pick after the spill and I know Russian pointed some people to some inefficiency in the banking sector when the witch hunt was at its height a while back.
Someone had a good call on Exxon, too, after the spill. JM made some people some coin on the semis a while back.
That Bama guy hasn't posted in a while. I'm guessing going all in on risky pharmas didn't end up being as fun as it was at first for him.
Other people have made me money on this board, too. This board is a net benefit. It more than makes up for the net negative I derive from the Poli board.

Cramer does provide an exit point. It's when he says buy

just place stop-losses, or market orders to get out when you feel it is time. ride your gains, cut your losses. old strategy. nothing new.

I apologize. Strike it from the record.
In that case I bought RES at $18 and still own it at $26.77.

I just realized that sounded kind of dick. Sorry, didn't mean it to be. I'm pissed about having to take the bar. Just ignore me.
Posted on 7/26/11 at 8:04 pm to RedStickBR
No worries. Good luck on the bar.

Bought ford in 2008 around 3 and exited around 7. Honestly, just pure luck. Also in 2008 I bought BoA at 6ish and sold at 10ish.
