I can't give any help, but I would think you won't get an audience until you have some results to show them. If you get your expected results, the people that work under the bosses will be much more likely to bring it to their attention.

Get a box of chicken biscuits, bring to oil company break room, hang out and BS with other service company sales people, wait for your bait to attract oil company engineers...profit???

That was my favorite part when I was on a project at a turnkey driller. A guy from Lafayette would bring in boudin and cracklins in every Thursday morning. And they guy that brought in Chick Fil A Chicken biscuits was held in high regard.
