Already own a lot in Metairie, looking to build a new house on it within the next year. Whats a good estimate to hire a general contractor for the following:
2 story, 1700 SF Living
300 SF Garage w/300 SF unfinished bonus room above
500 SF Covered back porch/patio with outdoor kitchen & bar area with a fireplace
TIA

On the very low end, you can get a basic structure with builder grade finishes for around $90 a square foot. This is going to be a box, no decorative elements, cheap fixtures, low end flooring, etc.
True custom, with decent decorative elements, a roofline with some elevation changes, quality flooring and fixtures, stone countertops, etc will run more along the lines of $125-150/square foot.
