its not a single drug thats the misconception. Their HIV division is the market leader and its growing, if you take the hepatitis C out of the picture, gilead trades at like 17x earnings just on the hiv division alone.

Even if it is not growing, there is still an undervaluation here.

What a complete pos this stock is, constant new lows. The chart looks like it wants 60s I just don't even know what to think anymore. They could easily double the dividend or just do massive buy backs like azo has for years and create growth but I'm not sure what management is doing these days. Anyone adding more on this new break to 52 week lows?

I've got no idea what I'm doing with this stock. My average cost is right around $79. I think a Hillary win will keep pushing this stock price down as well. P/E around 6 though is hard for me to justify jumping out of.

Have you ever read about autozone and their buyback? It's all time, they basically just sent the stock to the moon on buyback not growth, look at it over a long timeframe why doesn't gild pull that off?

This stock is tough to own. Every week I look at it hoping for news. Sooner or later they will buy a smaller company or 2, or 3, and this will shoot back up over 100 pps. They are a free cash flow behemoth which is why I am in it for the long term.

I believe once the dust settles after the election and/or they make an acquisition, the stock will be back at the 130-150 levels where it belongs. Don't forget about the HIV pipeline they are involved in.

Biotech, especially micro and small cap, have had a tough last year or so. Not sure if it's because because of the gileads or causing it.

Sigma I dont really follow biotech at all but I know Hilary is a big reason why Gilead supposedly sold off, fears of her doing something to control pricing, do you see that at all being a real option? I just dont see it as anything more than pandering for votes. There are definitely more egregious drugs out there, my dad takes esbriet for pulmonary fibrosis and he has to pay $5500/mo himself out of pocket and you never hear politicians mention that, Im assuming bc not many people have that disease.

I just think Gilead right here 74/75 level the ability they have to buyback stock over the coming decade is staggering, even if they do nothing. I read their patents last till 2030? I may have been wrong but like I mentioned earlier autozone has been a pretty mediocre company for years but have bought back stock in huge numbers and the stock has soared. I feel gilead has that type of potential but again its not my expertise or anything just financially they have alot of wiggle room to make stuff happen. I think they raised $10b last year on a bond sale too so their cash position is big right now.

Im reading that apparently Merck may have cured 1 patient from HIV in britain and thats whats dragging on the shares the potential of the HIV franchise would be under immense pressure if true and thats a huge cash cow

I've had GILD for about 2 years now cost average @ $82. I didn't sell when it got up to $110/share because of rumors of the dividend that they are now paying. I think this is a long term type investment.

I'm in agreement with a previous poster... let the dust settle after election and I am expecting to see GILD make an acquisition and track back up into the $100/share range.

Watched squak alley and fast money today and they talked momentarily about GILD. They all seemed to be in agreement that GILD needs to make an acquisition or two to bolster growth.

I don't think she does anything to the drug industry. They are a very large supporter in donations to Hillary so I can't see her screwing them
