No no no, Bitcoin is fine. The protocol still has integrity. The fact that the world's largest bitcoin exchange is bankrupt is irrelevant to bitcoin itself.

Well, in fairness, your statement, though made in jest, may be accurate.

Is this real debt or virtual debt?
If it's virtual, I think you only need to restart your computer.

Since Wiki is a no-show thus far, we need to pick up some of the slack for him IMO.
These sorts of hiccups are expected and necessary growing pains in the Bitcoin world. Bitcoiners understand that this is no big deal and will lead to even higher demands and higher prices for Bitcoins. I would explain it to you but honestly you are obviously too much of a plebian to understand even an inkling of it.
In a nutshell though, this will all get sorted out easily. You folks just don't understand the blockchain concept or the benefits of cryptocurrency. Everything is controlled by algorithms. Bitcoin is like any other investment, only better because it's based on mathematics.

nothing personal against wiki but its hilarious to watch something that someone believes in and advocates for so much go up in flames. kind of like watching a car crash

My brother used this as an excuse to buy a lot more bitcoin while it is down. To be honest I think he can make a lot more off this. Just don't believe it has a long term future myself but money is to be made

Have any of the Bitcoin guys explained why an EXCHANGE would even hold bitcoin that could be stolen?
Does MtGox serve as exchange and market maker here? (Albeit clearly functioning VERY poorly as a market maker)
Or am I giving them too much credit by even trying to explain their process?
