Hello, everyone. So to clarify, I am not going for a MBA but I am almost done with getting my Bachelors degree and the class I need to take to end it is MADM 480: Admin Policy. The teacher is Felice Williams at LSUS. Can anyone here tell me more about her as a teacher? She has taught MBA classes before and I saw horror stories about her on RateMyProfessor so I am concerned if I am forced to take her and I do not want to delay my graduation.

starting my very last class of this program... ISDS 730 Lean Transformation with Darrat. He's highly rated on ratemyprofessors but just realized no reviews for ISDS730. Anyone take him for this course?

I am in the same class and came here with the same question. Based on the syllabus, it seems like this is going to be a challenging and interesting class.
I have 5 classes completed and taking two now, so I am hoping to complete the program in August.

For FIN701, Choi or Vines? I have read mixed reviews on both professors. Not a great test-taker and I have no background in finance, which makes me nervous reading the reviews.

I took Choi for fin701, got an A with zero finance background. The tests are a big % of your grade but if I recall the discussions and case studies are easy 100% cushions. The tests have critical thinking/math problems but you can probably do well by simply focusing on memorizing the stuff in the slides and the easier problems on the practice exam.

Wow, I'm happy to hear Choi offers that! Do you know if he allows notes on the exam as other FIN701 professors do, or is it all closed book/notes?

he allows a formula sheet. Also you might want to take my perspective with a grain of salt... there's been classes I thought were easy As that apparently some struggled with.

This reply might be a little late, but... Vines allows notes to be used during tests. You can have all the written/typed notes you want and one window open for Excel, PowerPoint and/or Excel.
Vines doesn't used a text book. The class is taught off of typed pages he put together. The plus side is that the notes for each module are roughly 7-10 pages (single spaced). The downside is it can take a little bit of time to get used to reading formulae that are typed out.
He does a great job of being accessible and has one (and sometimes two) Zoom calls prior to each test.
There are 4 modules and the only thing graded are the tests for each module. So, there's no busy work and the roughly 1.5 week long modules give a little bit of flexibility to fit around other classes, work, or life in general.

What's going on with Moodle this session? For this whole week, it has been very slow for me. I've logged on from 3 different (high speed) internet connection, and always found Moodle to be super slow.

Does EVERY class use ProctorU? I'm taking my first course in the MBA program (FIN701 with Choi) and this program is a nightmare to setup, so many tech issues and privacy concerns on my end.
I'd be more okay with it if it wasn't a hassle

It's amazing that this thread is still rocking...I have had my MBA for over 5 years now and I started this thread, just looking for any experiences with the school.

I want to personally thank you for starting this thread. I found it in the summer of 2016. It was tremendously helpful to me as I went through the program and graduated at the end of 2017. More recently the Facebook groups were started so this thread slowed down but still has life.

I've completed 5 classes and am currently taking two classes. All 7 of these classes required ProctorU.
I've never really had an issues with ProctorU. In fact, I am somewhat surprised as to how easy and issue free it has been to use. I am sure that having a separate home office to use while taking tests (and being able to close the door and create some privacy) helps to make ProctorU usage be smooth.

Thank you for starting this thread. It played a large role in my decision to enroll in the program. I'm half way to completing the program and I continue to be very happy and satisfied with the program.

Im one class away from graduating and ALL classes I taken required ProctorU. Pretty much no issues on my part. Only thing I could think of was a couple semesters back I couldnt find any availability for an exam that had to be taken in the next 45 minutes but that was my fault for waiting until the last minute (had a timezone mixup on the deadline).

Long time lurker, first-time poster.
Has anyone had difficulty transferring in courses? The program I was going to pursue (Ok State, where I live) required leveling courses for Finance and Accounting so I applied to LSUS to avoid taking leveling courses(leveling courses suggested but not required @ LSUS). I can transfer my courses back to Ok State but I am considering just finishing at LSUS (cheaper tuition, easier courses, more summer courses, etc). The LSUS Graduate Catalog says LSUS accepts 6 hours as long as they are from an AACSB institution. When I mentioned this to a person I recently spoke with at LSUS, I was told no transfer courses are allowed. Was she mistaken?
If that's the case, I will just take the "hard courses" at LSUS (Finance, Accounting and Economics) and transfer those hours back to Ok State.
Would love to know if anyone else has dealt with this scenario. Have you guys transferred hours to LSUS?

The course isn't hard but the text (Kungu) is unbearable. Are there powerpoints or anything else I can use for test prep?

You are allowed to take a max of 2 classes during each 7 week session.
