Schlumberger just laid off 9,000 more employees. 7% of their workforce.

Forever... All the folks in the airline industry that got furloughed during high fuel prices don't remember the O&G industry's concern.

Losing a job for reasons outside your control is terrible, but shite happens.

The fact is that energy prices impact nearly everything, lower energy prices are a good thing for 95% of the country.

That said I hope we start to export LNG, the money in the Asian market is something to behold, and can employ many.

Enjoy lower energy prices for a year or so, once OPEC achieves goal of reducing prouduction gains in North America (Tar Sands, Shale oil, DW oil) they will again increase output after price to 90-100 / bbl for another 8-10 year period. t will take the US producers another 2-4 years to restablish net oil growth after this crisis.

I work in O&G sales. I've made my goal all 6 years with my company. However, this month of the new year I'm starting off at 40% to goal trailing revenue by half a million dollars already. It's affecting me pretty bad, unlikely I can even rebound just 15 days into the new year.
