Basically tired of living in a house full of strangers. I get along with my roommates fine, but would much prefer to have my own place. Lease isn't up til Jan of 18. How do I bring this up to the landlord without getting a ton of pushback.

Looking for advice/tips from someone who's done it before. Or if you're a landlord how would you want a tenant to approach you.

Posted this here from a landlords perspective. Also posted on OT because that board has more traffic.

Landlord doesn't care if you're sick of roommates. He cares about his money. You're talking about 4 mos of your life. If you get along with the roomies, be a patient adult and wait until January to jump ship.

Bring him a replacement for you and say if you let him take over the lease i will pay you an extra month's rent.

What is in the lease contract? Know that first, then approach them on being flexible if it doesn't allow what you want.
