i have three.

1 i use regularly. it's my bank's credit card that gives 1.5% back.

my discover i use depending what place is doing 5% back that quarter.

i have an amazon visa that gets 3% on amazon but i rarely use it. i got it when amazon offered to give me $80.00 for applying.

I think two is plenty. I have carried nothing but cash and a AMEX centurion in my wallet for the last few years. Did carry a Marriot Rewards card, and I will occasionally carry a debit card.

If you're a dumb frick like me? You can search for my Dave Ramsey debt snowball thread I started here a few months ago. It should take you about 2 years to amass an uncomfortable amount of debt.
