figure out what Invoice price
Doesn’t mean a damn thing.
The only great way to ensure a good deal is have dealerships competed against each other for the exact vehicle you want.
The “invoice” is not even close to being a true figure of what the dealership paid

Did you miss this part?

Ignore MSRP and figure out what Invoice price is. They are still very profitable at Invoice price

Yeah, like maybe you should open your search nationwide to do that.
Once again on my last purchase, I knew of a dealer in VA that was doing 7% under invoice for any factory order. I floated to every dealer (of same manufacturer) in the DFW area that option and none would match it. The best match was 2% under Invoice.
If you want a good deal, be willing to walk and be willing to travel. There really is no reason to sit with a salesman anymore and "play the game".
The Covid market has passed now, and it is a buyers world again.

got both my titan and armada at UNDER INVOICE years back.
had to have my shite together and play hard ball but it worked.
Nissan was happy to "split the hold back" or even better on Titans. Just say those magic words.

that is exactly what i had to do on my armada. got the guy to go down quite a bit. he did not wanna budge anymore. had to show him what another dealer was willing to sell same type for albeit different color at under dealer invoice. it worked. was a great deal per true car reviews also.
