Ford X plan pricing

Is this only for vehicles on the lot or can you order exactly what you want?
Any extra incentive for using the X plan on a vehicle already on the lot?
ETA: And if you can order, are 2015s still being ordered?

You can order
What vehicle are you buying?
The last 2 fords I purchased (an ordered F150 and an explorer off the lot) were both purchased below x-plan pricing.
It's really not that great of a deal and usually any one with some negotiating can beat. It may work well on vehicles that are selling well or newly released.

X-plan price is easy $ for dealer and discount for customer. But yes, can get dealer lower and you can still order vehicles under X plan

I used it on my last car. I agree you can probably negotiate a better deal.
I just liked how easy it was. I walked into a dealer and asked them if they would honor the X Plan price. After they said yes I showed them two new cars I had pulled off of their website. Told them I would pick between the two.
20 minutes after pulling into the lot I was sitting down filling out the paper work. Easy process for everyone and a fair price. The only negotiation was over the warranty. I had walked in just before closing (I didn't realize they closed at 8) and it was late for their guy. He said he wants to go home and would give me the strongest warranty at dealer cost. I'm sure they make something off of that cost but it was another hassle free situation that worked for both of us. Due to a fuel injection problem I got my money out of that deal.
Having said all of that I would approach things differently now. I would email the fleet manager at every dealership in the area that sells the car I'm looking for. Tell them exactly what you want and you'll take the lowest price. You can even tell them you have X Plan and that's the starting point. It's in their interest to give you a lower price for a guaranteed sale with some profit that would involve almost no work on their end. They just have to beat out the other dealerships. Worst case scenario you don't get a better offer than X Plan and you only lose the 5 minutes it took to send an email.

I'm going to do what you suggested. Why the fleet manager?

I read it in an article a long time ago. Something along the lines of they deal with low price options on cars already for companies. They can also sell straight to normal customers. It's an easy transaction for them that is right in line with what they're already doing.
You can also try the sales manager or someone else. I'm sure it's very dependent on the specific person but I would think they're more likely to try and negotiate from a higher cost.
Another method would be to send out the email with the price you want and tell them you'll buy if they meet your price. Really nothing to lose other than the small time to send the email plus the research to figure out the fair price. By including their competitors it's in their best interest to offer the best deal they can to make a sale.

No problem and let us know how it goes. I like the strategy but haven't had a chance to use it yet.
