Ok, looks like I was wrong, appears like the 2015 "fix" they passed actually fixed this.

Well i just dug up my 2013 tax return, that was the year I graduated LSU and took my taxes to H&R block (last time I'll do that), done them myself ever since. What was the process some of you took to amend it and send it in correctly? Thanks for the assistance.

Bumping this, I am about to file an amended return for my 2012 state return as I bought a new E85 Silverado in march of 2012.
