What are the negatives? 11+% yield.

Might want to read up on their SXL merger

The negatives are oil prices are going nowhere but down long term and that dividend can probably will be slashed taking the equity with it. I wouldn't want any oil related names in my portfolio long term at this point, they've gone nowhere in 3 years overall and more than likely the future isn't too bright, much better growth to invest in.

They were going to slash dividends until sxl bought them (lol not really, but that was the headline was). So now etp units will be converted to sxl units (1.5), but then sxl is going to become etp. They'll continue sxl dividend model, which will allow for future growth.
As for oil prices, they're midstream so that helps. Plus they'll be more diversified now.
They were not going to sustain that dividend growth, so that's what they came up with. Not sure if it's long term fix it it'll just be a short term band-aid.

I don't do tax, but yeah, it's a pain in the arse.

So big now that it's more of a play on general U.S. production growth. Corporate governance though.

Fixed it!
Seriously though, it doesn't bother me, but it costs. I would say the additional time I need to spend on each of those K-1s probably adds $25 to the cost of the tax prep, and it's $50 if they sell the SOB.

But they've gone somewhere in the last 1.5 years
