I didn't vote for Obama and a stock market correction IS what I wanted. Still do.

How low before it goes from being a correction to a full blown crash?

I'm thinking about re-shorting (mays, probably) if we don't get a ramp into the close, BTW.

when you're more than 2x overvalued, a correction looks a lot like a crash.

The market didn't drop down this low on W's watch. Anybody that knows about the stock market knows the price reflects expectations. Since Obama has been in office expectations have dropped.

Really wish I had the funds to start setting up a buy. I know of some large chains that have dropped to 1/3 of their high despite getting a LARGE increase in market share as competitors have dropped off and it would be nice to start buying up later this month.

it's just acting incredibly weak. We're oversold by every measure I can see, the next real support is at 500 on the S&P ( ), TLT is UP, even with all the new supply. This is the area from whence crashes come. And being out in may I won't get squicked if I'm wrong.

If you do that, inflation may render your retirement stash little more than a large pile of rolling paper.

IF we get massive inflation. If we instead get massive deflation, his cash pile will be the one of the best available investments.

That's the kind of financial analysis I can rely on.

We will get signals for massive inflation. Not so with deflation.

I am happy with my 90% allocation of my portfolio in cash and cash like instruments.

You better wait till the end of the year. I didn't vote for Obama and knew this was going to happen. The treasury secretary sucks and Larry Sommers can kiss my arse.

This is prime for me b/c I'm waiting for the market to tank and when I think it has reached it's low point, I'll will start investing for the first time in my life and hopefully reap the benefits

It's at the same level it was in the mid 90s

A net 0% increase in 14 years doesn't strike me as a great investment
