folks keep saying "there will be a correction soon". heck, that correction may be from 30,000 down to 23,000 in a few years.

I feel like I've only been investing in market highs. Does this make anyone else nervous?

It's making me nervous, but I dollar cost average throughout the year to minimize the impact of high market valuations.

Well not off the 52 week range. I'm long term and they've been a good bit higher over the years.

Exxon dividend is not sustainable based on earnings and its trading for over 100x earnings. The 52 week high and low is a facade, I actually entered a cvx short recently as it's trading at levels it was at with $100 oil and there is no way the dividend is sustainable if oil stays here

I was thinking about shorting it as well. However not sure they are going to drop enough or that I can afford enough to make it worth it.

Still kicking myself over not getting in on peabody before the election or shorting it after.

I'm riding the train and buying more when it "corrects."

The dividend is not threatened by earnings.

Exxon wrote down its huge natural gas reserves valuation to more accurately reflect market prices. That is a non-cash expense, meaning it's only an accounting adjustment and no cash left the company.

Ignoring the adjustment, Exxon's earnings are doing just fine.
