My sister's house flooded in Albany (6-8 inches) and she is debating selling "as is" to a flipper or repairing it and selling it. Does anyone have knowledge of this type of transaction? They are cleaning it right now.

Does she think she will get more than enough to pay off the mortgage?

They have owned it for quite a while so she definitely should.

A professional "flipper" will not pay anything close to value and recreational flippers will have a plethora of options to choose from. If she wants to maximize profits, she should have it repaired and sell on regular market. If she wants peace more so than profit, a flipper is an easy out.

Forgot to mention...they have about an acre or more behind their home which could be used for small houses or maybe even apartments. I guess what I'm saying is there is potential there.

I don't know any professional flippers, but I do know some people that own rental property in the area and may be interested in purchasing. Username @gmail if you want to email me the address so I can pass it along. I know they are still deciding but never hurts to have interested parties I guess.
