I know its great to be getting money back but wouldn't you want to change your withholdings to get the money during the year where you can use it?

I am getting 7200 back and I am pissed. I am playing around with it, but my income is over 50% bonuses and options. HR said there wasn't much I could do to change it, due to the way the calculate withholdings on bonuses.

I owe around 3k. Wife had maternity leave and was paid through disability. Didn't realize they weren't taking taxes out, plus I cashed out some stocks. I did turbo tax and wasn't comfortable with the results, so I ended up paying someone $400 to do them. I ended up saving myself about $1000 on the return. So even though I had to pay $400, i saved $600 overall.

The hassle of W4 changes with payroll easily out weighs 2-3 months of interest I would have gotten bro.

Takes less than 2 minutes if your employer has an online W4 change option.
