I will agree that they are better than they used to be, but to say they would go toe to toe with any other car in the class is a bit of a stretch. If you are happy with the car then, great, enjoy it. Just dont try to make yourself believe you bought the best car in that class.

Nothing in that class. But I factor a lot of things into the equation when deciding on a car. I recently bought a 2007 Toyota 4runner with 70k miles on it for 16k. That vehicle has the perfect storm of reasons it was the best financial decision for me.

For the price and quality it is to me. Had a Camry and it blows that out of water IMO

I agree the cool factor is extremely low when buying a full size car.

You are losing credibility by the second. I think we are coming from opposite sides of the spectrum so we will have to just agree to disagree.

Really? Cause i dont believe all of the car talk mags? Its way more comfortable and higher quality. As far higher quality the maxima has more, but they are more expensive as well

That may be your opinion but if you ask the rest of the world then they would disagree. Theres a reason that toyota sells more camrys than ford does tauri. Theres also a reason that camrys hold their value waayyyyyyy better.

My main question is why buy a full size sedan in the first place?

Think this was fluke brought on by people being loyal to american made. My mom had a taurus in the nineties. She bought it new and had it for about thrity thousand miles. She literally couldnt keep it after that because it broke too often.

You should buy a truck or SUV though. Family cars are not for dudes. And when you say economnical I cant even fathom why you wouldnt want to go with camry or accord. They demolish taurus in that category.

If you dont think camry and accord blow taurus away in EVERY category then it would behoove you to do some research next time you buy a car.

Makes it somewhat okay. Still a taurus though.

we can agree to disagree, its obvious you like Japanese, and tend to discredit other vehicles due to bad experiences with american vehicles, and thats not uncommon.

But my buddy was like that until his Avalon's motor locked up at 93k and that has changed his mind.

You are somewhat correct in that I lean more toward foreign. However, I did look up consumer reports and edmunds top picks for full size sedans in 2011. Taurus wasnt even listed among the leading models for that year on either site.

ETA as in, like, didnt crack the top ten.

I did more research than anyone should when buying a car. The simple fact that it says "Taurus" doesn't change the engine and options put in it.

I didn't get a car for the name, I got it for the package.
You'd be impressed if you rode in it, trust me.

Regardless of your impression I am pleased. Very cool car

I will take your word for it. And to yank, didnt mean to come of as an arse if I did. I just love a good healthy debate, especially on the money board. I am gonna keep an eye out on the road for em so I can check it out.
